“Matched”
is a book, which is made for teenagers, most of all for girls. The
main topics are love, growing-up in a different community, finding
yourself and the insecurity against yourself and your whole life. But
what do I mean when I speak about a “different community”?
I
can’t really imagine the community in “Matched”. It is crazy, a
little bit confusing and decisive, what means that everything is
decided by the community. For example who you have to love, with who
you have to spend your life with, how much you are allowed to eat,
what medicaments you have to take, and even when you have to die.
Yes, on your 80th
birthday, after a big ceremony with a great dinner, you have to say
Goodby to your family. :OOO ( crazy ?!?!? )
And
there is the main character Cassia, a young girl, i like her very much ... who recently got to
know her match. Everything should be ok. She has a great family and
everything is like it is wanted by the community. But that day, when
Ky appears on the screen, her whole life changes. She either doesn’t
believe in the community and she gets to know that there is a own
will inside her, and that she can decide on her own.
In
my eyes, the book is well written and the story is quite ok. But what
I don’t like is that in the first pages we don’t really get to
know who Cassia really is, how she feels or how she looks like. There
are just descriptions about the community and the general life there.
But what I really like is that, while you are reading, you gradually
want to know who Ky really is and what will happen with Cassia and
Ky.
